How are luxury stores ranked on WealthyShopping?
Stores are ranked by Average Price Tag (APT) — calculated by sampling 10–50 SKUs per store and computing the median transaction value. All prices are normalized to USD. Each store also receives a Credibility Score based on data source quality, sample size, and recency of verification.
What is the Average Price Tag (APT) methodology?
APT is WealthyShopping's proprietary pricing metric. For each store, we sample representative products across their range — from entry-level to signature pieces — and calculate a weighted median. This gives a realistic picture of what a typical high-end customer spends per visit, not just the most expensive item available.
Why does Bugatti rank #10 but has the highest APT?
Rankings weigh multiple factors beyond raw APT. Supercar showrooms like Bugatti have extremely high average prices but very low transaction volume. Our ranking algorithm accounts for category-normalized pricing, transaction frequency, product range depth, and market influence — giving a more holistic view of luxury retail significance.
How often are the rankings updated?
The global Top 25 rankings are updated monthly. Category-specific rankings are updated quarterly for high-volatility categories (watches, jewelry, handbags) and semi-annually for others. Each store listing displays its last verification date and data confidence level.
What does the Credibility Score mean?
The Credibility Score (0–100%) measures our confidence in a store's pricing data. It factors in the number of SKUs sampled, diversity of data sources (official prices, verified purchases, industry reports), recency of the last update, and price transparency. Scores above 90% indicate highly reliable data from multiple verified sources.
