Frequently Asked Questions
What is WealthyShopping?
WealthyShopping is the definitive global index of luxury retail pricing. We map and rank the most expensive stores on Earth across every category — from watches and jewelry to couture, handbags, furniture, and art galleries — using real price data and our proprietary Average Price Tag (APT) methodology. Think of it as the Bloomberg Terminal of luxury retail.
How does WealthyShopping rank stores?
We use a proprietary Average Price Tag (APT) system based on sampling 10–50 SKUs per store. Each store receives an entry ticket (lowest common purchase), median ticket (typical purchase), icon ticket (signature product), and max ticket (upper range). All prices are normalized to USD. Stores also receive an Ultra Tier Index (UTI) measuring extreme pricing signals, and a Credibility Score based on data sources and recency.
What cities does WealthyShopping cover?
WealthyShopping currently indexes luxury stores across 25 major cities worldwide including Paris, London, New York, Dubai, Milan, Tokyo, Geneva, Beverly Hills, Hong Kong, and Singapore — with expansion to 100+ cities in our next phase. Each city gets its own luxury intelligence page with neighborhood breakdowns and store rankings.
What categories of luxury stores are indexed?
We index stores across 10+ categories: Watches, Fine Jewelry, Couture & Made-to-Measure, Handbags, Shoes, Luxury Furniture, Fragrance, Blue-Chip Art Galleries, Supercar Showrooms, and Luxury Streetwear. Additional categories including Bespoke Luggage, Equestrian Luxury, and High-End Baby Boutiques are being added regularly.
Is WealthyShopping free to use?
Yes, WealthyShopping's core index — including store rankings, city guides, category pages, and the global map — is completely free to access. Premium features such as advanced price filtering, detailed APT analytics, and curated luxury shopping itineraries are available through our membership program.
How often is the data updated?
High-volatility categories like watches and handbags are updated quarterly. Fashion ready-to-wear is updated every 6 months. Home, design, and specialty categories are updated annually. Each store listing includes a confidence score and last-verified date so you always know how current the data is.
